Mazatlan Mexico brings back to me some of the best memories I ever had as an adult.

For me being happy has always been related to the water and beach. That’s because as a child, I was so fortunate to spend many wonderful summer vacations on the shore of the Black Sea, along with my parents. That explains why I’m always happy to see the sea no-matter where in the world. (this is actually in Mazatlan)

Sea shore in Mazatlan Mexico

Mexico has been our favorite travel destination since I moved to North America along with my husband. If I remember well, Mazatlan was one of our first trips to this country. I just happened to make the “About” page for this website yesterday, and I found this picture of us. I just couldn’t resist inserting it here tooΒ  πŸ™‚

* You may wonder where in the hell we got those “Viking” horns from… πŸ™‚ Well, a vendor was selling them on the beach to the tourists and tried to attract us to buy them too. I didn’t want to buy any, because they were of no use to us. Instead, I asked him to let us wear them while he took this picture – ha, ha – it worked! We rewarded him at the end of course πŸ™‚

Mazatlan Mexico – Memories of Good times

Our vacation to Mazatlan happened in 2008. I only had a small PS camera at that time, but I did my best πŸ™‚ * Click on the pictures for a larger view!

Here is a view of the Pacific Ocean, a small island and the beach. I took it from one of the hotels we stayed in.

And here is another view from above on a foggy morning – I really like this one, especially with those pelicans coming from the right side… πŸ™‚

It was very safe and fun parasailing on the beach, but I preferred to take photos from afar πŸ™‚

The City

Mazatlan is quite a developed city and municipality in the state of Sinaloa on the coast of the Gulf of California. From there you can take the ferry and go directly to La Paz on the Baja California Peninsula (we did this two times in both directions, but in different years)

As an old city dating back to 1531, it has a rich culture – a mix between Native inheritance, Spanish colonists and Germans who settled there around 1859.Β  A lot to see and visit, especially in the tourist area, which is mainly by the water and downtown. Below you can see an interior mall with murals and architectural elements, plus the Mazatlan cathedral:

And here we go again by the water, with places to make one happy for all pockets and budgets πŸ™‚ I took a lot of photos there, but unfortunately I cannot find them all.

Last but not least is this sunset on the beach photo, with palapas and the island. I digitally altered it as a painting, and it’s available as print for home decor and more. Just click on it to see it in my Fine Art America gallery:

Memories of Good Times |

Life in Newfoundland is simple, peaceful and beautiful. Want a relaxing vacation? Newfoundland is the place to go.

But this post is not as much about relaxation, but about the fact that creates it: SIMPLICITY. It is well known that simplicity creates relaxation and we all need this so much these days.

I often like an environment where people live without too much sophistication and high tech. For instance, this is what Sunday morning can look like in Fogo Island.

In this post I also inserted some of my favorite photos representing simplicity of life in this Maritime province of Canada. I think that simplicity here is

Life in Newfoundland is simple – fishing boats photos

In Newfounland you can find lots of simplistic / minimalist looking like scenes, just by looking at the boats floating on the water. There are many small coves  part of the Atlantic Ocean all along the coast of his big rocky island.

Here is another photo of a beautiful simple white boat reflected in the mirroring water:

I have some more beautiful boats but since I don’t feel well, I will end with this one in Rose Blanche near Port aux Basques, NFL:

… and here is a photo painting of a lonely boat in one of the Newfoundland’s coves:

Newfoundland West Coast

The West coast of Newfoundland offers even more places to take a relaxing vacation, while admiring the beauty of nature and simplicity of things.

This is just one scene that impressed me by its simple beauty and I called it Serenity in Newfoundland. I uploaded it to my Fine Art America Newfoundland gallery and it’s available as art print. Click on it for details:

North East Coast

While exploring the Twillingate area, on the North-East coast of the main island of the “Big Rock”, we noticed this peaceful beautiful scenery of a boat floating under the light of the full moon above. I got the shot and also made it as oil painting:

I also made another post about it: Quiet morning on Fogo Island, Newfoundland – you can see that I adore Newfoundland πŸ™‚

RDP Monday: ADORE

Do you feel scared by this unnaturally induced “pandemic”? Bad things spread fast, without warning.

Let’s try to stay away from them and overcome any fear by positive thoughts.

Also: Do not stay inside! While it is may be not good to join crowds, it is an excellent idea to find a place outside, where you can walk in the fresh air.

These will boost your immune system and help fight any bad viruses.
