The old trucks in Sprague, Washington state – Welcome to “Dave’s Old Truck Rescue”, a goldmine for antique rusty jewels lovers π
Sprague is a small village almost a ghost town in Lincoln County, Washington state. What a surprise to find this little paradise for photographers and old cars and trucks enthusiasts! π
Those old-timer vehicles, so colorful looked and somehow similar, looked to me a little like a part of a “Coterie” of trucks π
Lucky that we thought to stop there! I would have spent days and days to photograph all these jewels, but we only had about one hour to spare. I took quite a few of images though, and uploaded some to my Fine Art America gallery. Those with caption are available as art prints of all kind. Just click on them to see the options!
Again, I often like to think about funny ideas when I photograph. This one for instance, looked to me like a meeting of a clan with the leader in front, so I called it accordingly π
Some more…
I particularly liked this row of four yellow trucks. It looks like the owner of this place cared about esthetics:
Of course the old trucks in Sprague Washington where the main reason for making this post. However, is more to say and show about this old West American community dating back to 1883 when it was officially incorporated.
Whether you are a photographer, or just an explorer, it is worth to take a walk around this nostalgic western small almost ghost town in Washington State of the USA. Just take a look at the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church for example, which is a piece of historic architectural jewel. The old wooden train station will perhaps attract our interest too, as it did to me π
Here is another instance of the same street with the church and train station. The BNFS freight train was just passing by…
As you may know already, I’m a traveler and not particularly a car photographer. However, this antique farm equipment display I found in Spargue, was a real goldmine π
So, what else did I find here,… let’s see:
Oh look at this weathered sign of “The Prague TAVERN”, with the perspective of the main street! Of course the establishment itself closed its door for a while.
But I found another nostalgic piece of jewelry! Just look at his barber sign and mural on an old brick wall π It says: “Cremo Cigar, Barber Shop and BATHS, Straight Shape” – All hot headlines for that time in this Western small village π
I hope you enjoyed this short one hour visit to Sprague, Washington State, as much as I did π
** I just updated this post with more images that I uploaded to my FAA gallery
Todayβs Word: Coterie
I could have so much fun there. Shame it’s on the opposite coast as I am. Thanks for sharing your lovely photographs of this wonderful location.
Thank you for your comment and for liking my post, Bob! My husband and myself traveled West to East, North to South and in-between π
Not too much time left for other activities… Your comment made me go back and ad more photos and content to it π Thanks again!
I love those vintage trucks. Very cool.
Oh what fabulous photos you have of vintage trucks. I would have love to have been there with you.
Thank you Christine – I know… next time I’ll invite you π
